Most of them hail from one (or more) of twenty-one diverse countries from the Caribbean, Central America, Mexico, South America, or Spain. Pop quiz question: Can you name all 21 countries? (Answer is at the bottom of this blog.)


Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15 to October 15) was established on August 17, 1988 to educate and celebrate those Hispanic and Latino histories, cultures, and contributions. The dates that book-end this month are significant because many Latin American countries declared their independence within this time period (Costa Rica, El Salvador, Mexico, Chile, et al).


During Hispanic Heritage Month, there are many amazing events, sights, sounds, and smells to tantalize your senses. Use the ideas below to join in the celebration and learn more about this amazingly rich heritage.

  • Plays
